2017 WRINKLY RUN
Last month we had our annual Hibiscus Rodders Wrinkly Run, and what a greatturnout of vehicles we had, awesome to see all the big American cars on display and even some new vehicles coming along with new club members, just great. We did a bit of a cruise down to Browns Bay, then through to Albany and down the old Albany Highway and ended up at the Silverdale RSA. I think that it was a great days outing, seeing all the smiles on the Age Concern people’s faces makes all the effort we put into this worth it. The RSA...
Hibiscus Rodders Prize Giving Night 2017
Well, what a great prize giving night we had at Sharks, even though outside was cold, the temperature inside was warm with lots of happy people getting into the swing of the dress up. I personally wore a Christmas clown outfit, and enjoyed doing it with our lovely secretary Barbara wearing a Christmas tree outfit, but didn’t keep it on all night as she got too hot. There were others, such as Gavin dressing up as Jesus, Ian and Kerry Morley dressing up as an elves, and as for Graham Thoms, a FAIRY??? and Glenys was also a fairy, but...
Hibiscus Rodders Prize Giving Night 2016
I think everyone that turned up enjoyed the night, what a great band we have with Vermeer, I am pretty certain that everyone enjoyed the music, they did an awesome job, and a big thanks goes out to Gary in particular. As for the costumes, well, I think that everyone outdid themselves this year, what a great selection of costumes, from a Joker, a bunch of Arabs with their Harem to some ladies of the night and Marilyn you looked perfect in your outfit as a madam, the Indians and squaws, and what about Rodney, think he should have gone...
2015 OREWA SANTA PARADE
The Orewa New World Christmas Party was held on November 21st, yet another great turnout of cars, was a pity that the weather wasn't that great, but that is one thing that can’t be predicted! Looking at all the people watching the parade and from the feedback of Destination Orewa. It was still a great success and we also won the best non-commercial float again! VISIT TO THE HOT ROD SHOW
Our club was invited out to Ken’s Shed in Kumeu to be featured on the Hot Rod Show, most people were really keen to come along to participate in the day’s event. There was a great selection of cars and everyone had a great day watching the filming and there were 3 cars selected to be featured for the filming, the selection was done by the producer of the show, so even though not all the cars were selected everyone had a good day out, watching the filming and having a nice cruise from Orewa to Kumeu.
